Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School continues to be an academically rigorous and competitive high school on local, state and national levels. Wyomissing Area High School receives annual recognition from national ranking systems such as the U.S. News World Report, The Washington Post,, and Newsweek’s Daily Beast America’s Top High Schools.

Wyomissing Area Jr/Sr High School provides an extremely rigorous curriculum for its 965 students. There are 33 designated honors courses in eight disciplines, and 21 Advanced Placement (AP) courses where 87.7% of our AP students scored a 3 or higher on an AP exam during the 2017 school year.

The graduating class of 2017 had a 95% cohort graduation rate, nearly one-third of them graduated with a 4.0 GPA or higher and nearly 90% of our 2017 graduates enrolled in a four year college, two year college or a technical school.  The strong curriculum, excellent teaching and guidance staff, and the educationally oriented community are responsible for the post-secondary success of our graduates, whether at selective colleges or in the workplace.

Wyomissing Area Jr/Sr High School is proud of its achievements in its 26 varsity athletic programs and 43 extracurricular clubs. Our athletic teams are traditionally some of the best in Berks County and, often, in the state, citing a 2017 ranking from where Wyomissing Area High School was ranked top three athletic programs in Pennsylvania.

On a co-curricular level, many of our clubs reach the state or national level. Our Model UN, school artists, and the Math Club successfully compete on the state and national levels. The Wyomissing Area choral and band programs travel to competitions throughout the United States to assure our musical students of the highest level of play. Wyomissing Area Jr/Sr High School offers a very competitive and rigorous education while maintaining a balance of extracurricular and service activities to educate the whole student.
