Paraprofessional Opportunities

Do you want to be part of a team that puts children first through communication, collaborative planning, & a support system ready to tackle any difficulty that may arise?  Do you have an Associate Degree (or higher) or two (2) years of post-secondary educational credits?

Then you should consider a job at Wyomissing Area School District as a special education paraprofessional! Generally speaking, the paraprofessional provides support to the teacher & especially to students with disabilities in the classroom who need modified instruction or assistance, as keeping with their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Paraprofessionals commonly assist with tasks such as:

• leading small group instruction designed by the teacher,
• gathering materials,
• providing assistance for personal care and other physical needs,
• assisting students to complete directions given by the teacher,
• facilitating interactions between students, and
• executing other, often unseen, but very important tasks for the classroom community.

The Wyomissing Area School District’s best practices include all the activities listed above as well as playing an important role in the student-centered team to ensure quality instruction for all students. If you would like to join our Paraprofessional team, please complete an application on the Human Resources tab at www.wyoarea.org and email it to the Director of Special Education, Dr. Jessica Lengle.
