USDA EXTENDS free meals for the 20/21 school year

The USDA announced that the waivers that allow schools to serve ALL children free universal meals, continued through June 2021.

This new announcement is designed to ensure that families are supported with nutritious meals amid the pandemic. All students can receive a full breakfast AND full lunch for free regardless of household income.

·         One full meal at both breakfast and lunch will be offered for free on a daily basis, which includes “In-person” and “Grab and Go” meals. If students choose to purchase a la carte items or additional meals (ex: double breakfast or lunch) those items will be charged to their cafeteria account.  While school is in session, students will access breakfast and lunch in the same manner they have since the start of the school year.

· ff   Families may continue filling out applications for free and reduced lunch for the 20/21 school year.   We encourage families to take advantage of this benefit, provided by the USDA, for ALL students to receive free meals through the end of the 20/21 school year.

Please note: free, reduced, and paid categories will resume next school year.

Our Wyomissing Area SD Food Service team is excited to serve your children healthy and tasty meals this school year.

The Wyomissing Area School District Food Service Department will be offering free breakfast and lunch meals for all in-person and virtual learners.

Grab and Go Meals – All Children
